Would you like some vocal lessons for beginners?
In the beginning it can be tricky because you love the idea of being able to sing and charm an audience. But also you might think that you have no ability whatsoever and becoming a singer is a long shot.
Fortunately this is not the case!
Watch this short 2 minute video and I'll show you two things that will get you singing with confidence straight away!
No matter how your voice sounds now, I can tell you that you do have a great sounding voice!
The reason I can say this with such confidence is I've taught literally thousands of singers over 30+ years. All the way from beginners to pros to grammy winning stars!
And every single one of them had something great.
The thing is you have a great sounding voice, but you just may not have learnt to use it correctly yet.
So it's about training your body to produce sound correctly. When you do this your unique voice will come through and you'll be able to use it to entertain and move audiences.
When you're a beginner one of the first things you need to do is learn how to hear yourself sing.
That may sound a little funny, but what it's going to allow you to do is hear the note that you're singing (We've all seen those singers on reality TV that have no idea they are singing WAY out of tune!).
So to do this I want you to focus your hearing into a spot in the middle of your forehead.
As you sing, really pay attention to this position and listen carefully to the sound. Concentrate on the note that's coming out and whether it's the right or wrong note.
This takes practice and it may be a little frustrating in the beginning if you're not hitting the right note. But I promise you that after a few sessions you'll start to "get it" and you'll be able to hear the notes more clearly.
The second step is to understand how you're producing your sound.
What's happening is in your voice box you have vocal chords. And as air passes through these chords, they vibrate back and forth producing air pressure.
These sound waves then go up into your head and are amplified in the cavities in your head.
Now, you don't need to have an intimate understanding of this. You just need a basic understand of this so you know what's happening.
So as you sing, just "think" that air is passing through and your vocal chords are moving back and forth, nice and easily.
If you go to the video up the top of this page, at the 1:17 mark you'll see me practice an exercise.
This is a great one to get started as a beginner because it helps you get used to making a sound with your voice.
All we are doing is using the sound "AAAAHHHH" to sing on a simple scale.
So try to sing along with me!
Once again, just listen to the sound you are making in the middle of your forehead and see if you are hitting the notes or missing them.
And just feel how air is coming up through your voice box and your vocal chords are moving back and forth nice and easily.
If you want to get really ambitious, you can then take one of your favourite songs and then replace the words with this "AAAHH" sound.
Do this a few times and then go back and sing the song with the words and you will notice definite improvement!
Most importantly of all, have fun with these tips. You will only become a really good singer if you enjoy singing.
I know it can be a little frustrating in the beginning when the sound coming out of your mouth isn't how you'd like it to sound.
But I promise if you stick with it you'll sound better and better and before you know it you'll LOVE singing.
So go easy on yourself in the beginning and try to keep things light and fun!
Good luck with tees vocal lessons for beginners! Singing really is a worthwhile pastime so I hope you stick with it and get a lot of satisfaction from it!
